Things to do on a Girls’ Trip to Las Vegas

1. High Roller

Literally every single picture, post card, picture frame, ornament, etc. that has anything to do with Las Vegas will have the High Roller on it.

It’s iconic and it’s a must do when spending a weekend with your girlfriends in Vegas. The ride itself costs about $35 per person and takes a half hour to make a complete circle.  Consider splurging for happy (half) hour where you’ll have a personal bartender in your pod and as many drinks as you can down in that time.

2. Fly LINQ Zipline

Long known as the best zipline in Vegas, Fly LINQ continues to draw people from all over for this adventurous experience.  I personally think the view is better at night because you will see the Strip all lit up.

It’s not too fast, and the ride doesn’t last super long, but it does give you an awesome perspective.

3. See A Show

There are so many incredible shows to choose from in Vegas depending on your interests. Choose from dancing, comedy, acrobatics, and so much more.

  • ILuminate at the StratThis was incredible and so much fun and is first on my list when I come back to Vegas.  The theater is completely dark while the dancers glow in the dark and put on an awesome show to some of your favorite songs.
  • Cirque du Soleil “O”Although not the only Cirque show to choose from in Vegas by any means, this one is one of my favorites.  Not only are the acrobatics incredible and will have you on the edge of your seat, it’s located in the stunning Bellagio Hotel.

4. Welcome To Las Vegas Sign

Just do it.  This is a must-have photo to document how epic your girls’ weekend in Vegas was.   You’ll probably see the giant line and say “(insert expletive) NO!!”  But the earlier you go, the less crowded it will be.

It took us three different tries to actually find a reasonably sized line.  We probably waited 20 minutes, and in 90 degree heat that was long enough.

Pro Tip: There is a guy there who will take your photo for free and help you pose.  No need to bring your tripod or try to capture that perfect selfie!

5. Vegas Nightlife

Get all dolled up and blinged out and hit the Strip for some of the best nightlife you will experience anywhere.  You and your girls will have a blast no matter where you go!

Some clubs offer free admission before a certain time, but the main DJ/performer doesn’t usually come on until between 12-1am.

Two of my favorites are:

  • Drais – One of my favorite parties in Las Vegas with the best views of the Strip.  It’s a pool party during the day and a nightclub after dark.
  • Omnia Nightclub – Located in Caesars Palace and one of the most famous clubs in Vegas. The club is multi-level.

Pro Tip: plan your nights out around the DJs or celebrity performers you want to see.
Pro Tip #2: Want to get into the clubs for free? Don’t snub those club promoters on the street then!  They will often offer you free admission, especially for females!  Get on their promoters list and party it up for free!

6. Pool Party

Hitting a Vegas pool party with your girlfriends is one of the best ways to party during the day in Vegas, if that’s your thing of course!

Don’t try to bring in a bunch of stuff though.  Most places are very strict on what you can and cannot bring in.  A small bag with some sunscreen and some sunnies is about all you will need.  Wear your best bathing suit and a cover up and dance the day away!

  • Drais – Mentioning this one again because it has AWESOME views of the Strip.
  • Encore Beach Club– Arguably the best pool party in Vegas.  The pool is gigantic and that’s a good thing because it gets super crowded.  Known for being a favorite celebrity spot!
  • Marquee – Located in The Cosmopolitan.  So much fun, but drinks are insanely expensive.

Pro Tip: check the club’s website for required footwear and clothing BEFORE you go.  The last thing you want is to be turned away because you’re wearing the wrong shoes.

7. Male Dance Show

Let’s just go ahead and put it right out there that you can’t visit Las Vegas on an all girls weekend and not see some male dancers!  I’m not saying go straight for the full on strippers (unless that’s what you’re into then hey, get it girl!!)

But there are some other spicy shows that show just enough skin to have you sitting on the edge of your seat begging that they come pick you out of the audience.

  • Thunder From Down Under
  • Chippendales
  • Magic Mike

8. Enjoy Some Craft Cocktails

There are countless bars in Vegas.  Some are boujee, some are casual, some are girly, some are even hidden.

A few of the bars you cannot miss are:

  • The Aft Bar – delicious, and beautiful craft cocktails can be enjoyed while watching the (free) Lake of Dreams Show, an interactive puppetry show that runs every 30 minutes.
  • I Love Sugar – I’m sold at the name, how about you?  This candy martini bar has Instagram worthy martinis that you’ll be sure to want to sip on.
  • The Chandelier Bar – One of the most famous boujee bars in Vegas.  The three-floor chandelier has over a million crystals.  They have a ‘secret’ verbena cocktail.  I see a lot of people ordering it on social media and talking about how the taste changes. You’re supposed to take a sip, then chew the flower, then take another sip.  Although it does change taste, I do not recommend it. Try at your own risk
  • Vanderpump Cocktail Garden – just absolutely stunning inside
  • The Chocolate Bar – if chocolate-inspired cocktails aren’t enough to convince you that you must stop here on a Las Vegas girls’ weekend, I don’t know what is.

9. Downtown Las Vegas

Downtown Las Vegas, or Fremont St, is the heart of Old Vegas and a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the city’s rich history.

When visiting Vegas with your girlfriends, here are a few stops in Downtown Las Vegas you won’t want to miss.

  • Fremont Street Experience: One of the most popular attractions is this outdoor pedestrian mall featuring an awesome (and free!) light show, street performances, live music, the original Vegas zipline, and more!
  • Neon Museum: Join every other blogger and influencer and take some photos of the vintage, old casino neon signs for social media at the Neon Museum.  My advice is to go at night when the signs are all lit up!
  • Mob Museum:  To experience the darker, more sinister side of Vegas, check out the Mob Museum and learn about its history during a self-guided tour.

10. Go Shopping

I’ll never think a girls’ weekend anywhere is complete without at least a little shopping!! Tell me I’m wrong!

Planet Hollywood has the Miracle Mile Shops with much more affordable options whereas The Bellagio, The Venetian, and Caesars Palace all have high-end designer brands as well.  Take the time to at least window shop them, a girl can dream right?!

11. Venetian Gondola Ride

Take a moment and relax on your girls trip to Vegas with a serene ride on the Venetian Gondola.

You can choose from an indoor or an outdoor ride through the Venetian canals.  A shared gondola seats up to 4 people.

12. Spa Day

A spa day with your girlfriends is one of the best ways to wind down from all of the partying and have a relaxing weekend in Vegas.

Literally (almost) every single hotel will have a spa.  Check into the one at the hotel you are staying at first as they may have discounts for hotel guests.  The price significantly increases if you are not a hotel guest.

13. Boozy Brunches

Let’s be real, if you’re partying all night in Vegas with your girlfriends, you’re definitely not going to be up in time for breakfast. BUT you definitely can make an awesome boozy brunch.

  • Mimosas Gourmet – known for their mimosas, of course.
  • Mrs Coco-  Truly a hidden gem located about 30 minutes outside of Vegas in the Lake Las Vegas community.  This place is boujee and girly and just an all around dream!
  • Hash House A Go Go: A must-visit when in Las Vegas. The dishes are made with a Southern flare, and the portions are huge.
  • Sugar Factory: The drinks will leave you in awe.  First off, they’re HUGE and you can have them made non-alcoholic if you like.  They’re all topped with candy and taste delicious. The pancakes are even different colors!
  • Yardbird: Love a good Bloody Mary? You can’t miss the ones at Yardbird.
  • Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beers: If you feel like skipping the breakfast food, head to Black Tap for some awesome burgers and one-of-a-kind shakes!
  • Lola Cafe – at the top of the list of girly places in Vegas, you can’t miss stopping in for a coffee and waffles at one of the most Instagrammable places in Las Vegas.

14. Eiffel Tower Viewing Deck

Head up to the top of the Eiffel Tower for one of the best views of the Strip.

Looking for a boujee thing to do in Vegas?  Visit the Eiffel Tower restaurant with its majorly impressive wine list.

Every night from sunset to midnight, the Eiffel Tower lights up with an amazing light show that is free to watch.  You can see it from anywhere on the Strip.

15. Stratosphere Skyjump

For the adventure loving girls in your group, how about jumping off the 829 foot Stratosphere Tower towards the Strip below?

I’m not sure I can stomach this one, but if you do let me know how it goes!!!

16. Omega Mart

Omega Mart is an immersive art installation located in the Area 15 entertainment complex, about a mile from the Strip, and is one of the coolest, most unique things to do in Vegas.  Explore this sprawling supermarket that doubles as a portal to an alternate reality filled with weird and exciting things.

Omega Mart is owned by Meow Wolf (which I mentioned on my recent girls’ weekend in Denver post).

17. Try Your Luck at the Casino

Feel like seeing if you’re lucky? You are certainly in the right place as you are hard pressed to not walk by or through a casino while in Las Vegas.

18. Walk The Strip

You can walk the 4 mile Las Vegas Strip in about an hour and a half if you don’t stop at all.  Let me tell you, Vegas is hot and that is a loooonnnng walk.  So if you’re going to do it, just don’t do it in heels!!

There are so many things to see and do along the Strip.  Stop and watch the show at the Bellagio Fountains, watch the Volcano erupt at the Mirage, or even get your picture taken with the ladies wearing all the feathers and not much else (if you’ve been to Vegas, you know what I mean).

Pro Tip: Head inside the Bellagio and walk through the Conservatory.  The fresh flower exhibits will blow you away and it’s a great photo op.

19. Seven Magic Mountains

These incredible seven stacks of colorful boulders tower over you at 30+ feet tall and are one of the most Instagrammable places in the Las Vegas area.  Don’t miss your chance to see them, they’re only a short 20 minute drive from the Strip

2o. Valley of Fire State Park

I highly recommend spending an extra day in Vegas so you can explore the Valley of Fire.  Located about an hour from Las Vegas, Valley of Fire State Park is famous for its vibrant red sandstone formations that glow in the sunlight.

There are many scenic hiking trails that range from easy to challenging where you can see the ancient petroglyphs on the rocks, interesting rock formations, natural arches and so much more.

The stunning scenery is a great place for photography enthusiasts or those just looking to spice up their social media feeds.

The Fire Wave at Valley of Fire

21. Red Rock Canyon

If you don’t have enough time to visit Valley of Fire, Red Rock Canyon is another viable option that is only 20 minutes from Las Vegas.  Although more rugged and mountainous than the desert-like Valley of Fire, Red Rock Canyon has some awesome hiking, rock climbing, and a diverse range of wildlife.

22. M&M Factory

Want to create M&Ms with your face on them or pick up a few packs of any flavor of M&M you can think of? The best part, these four stories of chocolate bliss is FREE (of course they do have a huge gift shop).  It’s worth stopping for the smells alone.

23. Speed Vegas

Grab your girlfriends and hit the racetrack for a thrilling experience driving exotic cars.  I recommend you add a couple of extra laps to the 5 you already pay for since it may take you a couple of laps to get used to the car.

Add a drift experience if you’re feeling an extra adrenaline rush!

24. Helicopter Tour

Splurging for a birds-eye view of the Strip on a Las Vegas girls trip, especially at night time, is well worth it.  You’ll get an unparalleled view of the Strip and surrounding area.  The bad part, the ride only lasts 10-12 minutes.

25. Pinkbox Doughnuts

Grab a dozen and take them back to your room! You’ll thank me later when you need that midnight snack.

Awesome Dining Experiences

Renowned for its incredible dining scene, celebrity chefs, and world-class restaurants that cater to every taste and budget.   No matter if you choose gourmet, luxury dining, or something more casual you will surely find your cravings satisfied.

Buffet

Las Vegas buffets are famous.  I know you’re probably thinking mediocre food that’s been sitting out for ages — gross.  But that is not the case here! You’ll find gourmet cuisines and lots of international flavors and flares.

A Few of my Favorite Vegas Restaurants

  • La Cave Wine and Food Hideaway – Although they are known for some of the best brunches in town, don’t skip on trying them for dinner either! They serve everything tapas style with some amazing cocktails.  The charcuterie board was to die for!
  • Nacho Daddy – A more laid-back, casual dining experience named one of the best Mexican restaurants in Vegas. They serve awesome nacho dishes piled high with your favorite toppings – literally anything you can think of.
  • Canaletto – Serving upscale Italian dishes with an extensive wine list.  Located in the Venetian.
  • Twisted Sourdough Pizza – Ever had a pizza that was wrapped into a cone?  If you haven’t, what are you waiting for?!
  • Hell’s Kitchen –  Another highly sought after luxury dining experience in Vegas.  Make reservations as far in advance as possible.

5 Tips For an Awesome Las Vegas Girls Trip

If there is a restaurant or a bar that you really want to go to on your girls trip to Vegas (i.e Hell’s Kitchen), book it as far in advance as possible.  Nothing puts a damper on your trip than having to wait outside a restaurant for hours waiting for a table.

Wear comfortable shoes!! As cute as those heels are, trust me girl, they’re not worth it!!  With that being said, check the dress code for places you want to go, especially nightclubs.  If you show up in flip flops, you’ll most likely get turned away.

Plan your evenings around DJs or performers you want to see and remember the main act usually comes on between 12-1am.

As I mentioned before, don’t brush off those club promoters you see out on the Strip.  Sometimes they will offer you free admission, especially if you’re in Vegas with a group of girls.

Give yourself some down time!! Seriously, do not pack your schedule so full that you can’t breathe.  Vegas is hot, the food will have you so full, and if you’ve been partying til 3am you will want to give yourself some time to recharge.

Where To Stay in Vegas

It’s a non-negotiable that you stay on the Strip, especially if it’s your first time in Vegas.  The views are awesome, you’re close to lots of things to do and many bars and restaurants are within walking distance.

Hotels like Luxor and Mandalay Bay are on the southern end of the strip and a little bit further of a walk to get to the main attractions.  The Bellagio and Cosmopolitan are going to be right in the heart of the Strip and the Wynn, Encore, and Venetian are on the northern end of the Strip.

Remember, the strip is 4 miles. So if you plan on walking everywhere, where you choose to stay will be crucial.

How To Get Around Las Vegas

I personally always rent a car whenever I go somewhere.  I just prefer to not have to rely on Uber or taxis, plus they can get pretty pricey.

With that being said, the self-parking garages will run you about $15-20 after the first hour (the first hour is always free).  The parking garage at the Venetian is always free!!

Sometimes your hotel key will work for free parking at any sister properties so be sure to check that out.  For example, we stayed at Luxor and we could park at any MGM property for free.

Of course, you can also grab a taxi or an Uber.  This way you’ll be dropped off right at your destination and not have to worry about parking. Valet is always an option too!

How To Get To Las Vegas

If you are arriving by plane, you will fly in to Harry Reid International Airport.  The Las Vegas Strip will be about a 15 minute drive from the airport.

Las Vegas is about a 4 hour drive from Los Angeles, 6 hours from Salt Lake City, and just under 5 hours from Phoenix.

How Much Time To Spend in Vegas

One week in Las Vegas is a perfect amount of time for a girls trip.  During my recent trip, we spent 4 nights and we didn’t have enough time to do everything we had hoped for.

One week in Vegas gives you plenty of time to see all the highlights, take a day trip, party it up, eat some good food, and have some time to relax.

Is Las Vegas a Good Place for a Girls’ Trip?

Although quite crowded, Las Vegas is an awesome place for a girls’ trip.  If you love a place with lively nightlife, exciting entertainment, luxurious hotels, and world-class dining and shopping, then Vegas is for you, baby!

How to go “Around the World” in Vegas

By now you’ve probably heard about the whole ‘going around the world in Vegas’ thing.  Several of the hotels, and attractions, on the strip make you feel like you’re in a different place in the world.  Here is what I mean:

  • Paris: Eiffel Tower Experience
  • Medieval England: Excalibur Hotel
  • Florence Italy: The Palazzo
  • Venice Italy: The Venetian
  • Ancient Rome: Caesars Palace
  • Tropical Paradise: Mandalay Bay
  • Egypt: Luxor
  • Polynesia: The Mirage
  • Bellagio, Italy: The Bellagio
  • NYC:  New York, New York Hotel & Casino
