Things To Know About Staying in Niagara Falls

Remember, no matter which side of Niagara Falls you choose to visit, you will need a passport if you are coming in from another country.  This still applies if you are walking cross the Rainbow Bridge that connects the US with Canada as well.

The Niagara River pours over the three waterfalls that make up ‘Niagara Falls’: Horseshoe Falls (Canadian Falls), American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls (both belonging to the United States).  The Niagara River Gorge is what separates the Canadian province of Ontario with the US State of New York.

Peak season is June-August when the weather is warm and crowds are heaviest so be sure to reserve your hotel room as far in advance as possible, especially if you are hoping for a fallsview room.

Which Side to Choose? American vs. Canadian

Choosing which side of Niagara Falls to visit is no easy decision as there are many awesome experiences to be had on both sides.  But when it comes to hotels, unfortunately, there is no hotel on the New York side with a direct view of the falls.  The best view you will get on the US side will be of the Niagara River or of the mist from the American Falls.

All of the best fallsview hotels in Niagara Falls are on the Canadian side.  But in this post, I will still be listing hotels on both sides of the border so you know where to stay on either side.

Niagara Falls is worth visiting on both the American and Canadian sides as they both offer a beautifully different perspective.

Where to Stay in Niagara Falls: Best Hotels with a View (Canada)

As previously mentioned, all of the hotels with a view of the Falls are going to be on the CANADIAN side of the falls.

The most sought-after hotels in Niagara Falls, Ontario are on Fallsview Boulevard – an area of road that runs alongside the major viewing areas with popular tourist attractions all within walking distance.

Most people expect parking to be included in the cost of your stay but that is NOT the case here in Niagara Falls most of the time.

Parking fees range from $15-$100 per night depending on the hotel you choose.  You can sometimes find off-site parking that is cheaper, or free, and some hotels do offer a shuttle service. This could be a good, budget-friendly option if you don’t mind walking everywhere.
